Jodan Cook. Japanese Powder

Hey!

I come to you from the land of incredible powder... even in spring, Japan has turned it on!

I have been skunked out by rain the last week and was beginning to wonder if it was the end of the season, when out of nowhere it began to thump down with snow late yesterday, which by the morning had turned into 1 meter of blower powder!
Face Shots ALL DAY!

Needless to say, it was a day completely full of amazing skiing in Japan's epic trees and open faces.

Anyway, I will be working on getting footage over the next few days to drop into another edit, but for the moment, check out the happy snaps I grabbed today!

Sorry to those who are waiting for snow to fall, I know its hard to hear about.. but it gets you SUPER STOKED to ski right!?!

It was a winning weekend for Dragon's Carlton Dry Honda Thor MX Racing Team. Brad Anderson (pictured top) had a perfect run of results in his debut race meet for the team at the State Championships in Wonthaggi, Victoria. Teammate Ford Dale (pictured second) regrouped after a crash in his first race, going on to win the final two races in his own class.

Thanks for Shayne Rice for the photos.

Cory T's been busy. After taking out the Queensland State Titles in the Junior Mens AND Junior Boys divisions, Cory went on to challenge some of the best wakeboarders in the world at the Moomba Masters held in Melbourne, Victoria, just recently. Completing what most would agree has been a very successful month, Cory then went on to place a close second at the Australian National Titles... yewww! What a month!

Check out some of the behind-the-scene shots from our team photoshoot the other day in Ballina, NSW. Owen catches up with Xavier Rudd, and enjoys a few quiet moments in between chatting with fans and shooting for our upcoming sunglass launches dropping later this year!

Ski Blog: Jodan Cook, Japan Shred!

Hey everyone!

So I arrived two days ago in Japan, then caught a bus straight from the Airport to Hakuba!

Its amazing how much snow is still around and still coming down at this time of the year!
All yesterday I was out in the backcountry getting some amazing turns in with some good mates from Australia!

I got some video footage as well, but that will go into the next edit.. so keep your eyes out!
We are looking into getting some shots around an ancient temple in the snow as well.. so there could be some siiiick material to come!

In the meantime, I snapped a few shots on my phone in the backcountry to show you how epic it is!

I'll keep you updated on the hunt for shoot locations off the mountains!

Jacob Wilcox on fire at first round of WA Junior Surfing Titles!

Congratulations to Anklebiter Jacob Wilcox for winning the U18 Junior Men and U16 Cadet Boys divisions at the Chill Western Australian Junior Surfing Titles over the weekend. The event was held at the notoriously hollow and unforgiving Gas Bay, where fast barrelling waves challenged the bumper field of 90 of WA's best up and coming surfers.

The preliminary rounds of competition on Saturday, whilst affected by cross shore SSE winds were dominated by performances from Jacob Wilcox, and also Dragon's Shaun Green. The new generation of Margaret River showed exactly why they are at forefront of junior surfing in WA with some jaw dropping manoeuvres and innovative surfing which impressed the judges and spectators alike.

Wilcox was elated with the win and commented on the performance of others and his excitement on returning to National Titles.

"It was pretty tricky out there but still fun. I knew that the boys could we going for airs with the wind light onshore, so that's what I went for too."

"I think WA will have a really strong team this year and its always good to surf against the other states so its good to get off to a start here".

Day Two of Dragon Surf Trip... as told by Jordy Lawler!

Day 2:

Today is the 6th of March and we kicked it off with a surf at Palm Beach. It was off shore and 2-3 ft. We were super hungry and raced down to Maccas and got a killer feed. Whilst we were there, we heard that Dbah was pumping so rushed down there and had another surf. It was 10.30 and already had 2 surfs! Everyone was frothing out and we had a wiggle in 1-2ft Dbah. We finally got back to our apartment and chilled out and had something to drink. I bought a skateboard and then hit the surf again. Jacob, Luke and I surfed the sickest little left rip bowl and it was super rippable, we surfed that from 4.30 – 6.30. 30mins after, straight to dinner at Green Mount surf club. We got home and everybody went straight to sleep it was a busy day.

Quote of the day came from our filmer we were discussing marriage... “Were you nervous when you proposed??????" "Nah, I had a couple of beers”.

Anklebiter Jordy Lawler blogs from Dragon Surf Trip! Day One...

Dragon is floating around the Gold Coast with our surf entourage. 16 year old Anklebiter, Jordy Lawler, is sharing his experiences as a free spirit away from parental supervision… a grommet's dream. Keep an eye on our movements through these posts over the coming days...

DAY 1:

Today is the 5th of March and we just had a killer session at Snapper. It was super crowded and hard to get but when you got them it was like classic Snapper reeling down the line! Mick Fanning was out and he was ripping so hard, it was so good to watch and learn. Then me and Jacob went to 711 and got 1.8 litre Slurpees and two donuts it was hard to finish but it was what we wanted! After that the boys and I had a massive sugar rush and surfed Dbah, it was rippy but a couple of barrels to be made. We got in and Noa took ages to come in he took about 30 mins to just get in the car. As we were driving home Nick mentioned a snack and stopped in to our favorite 711 and picked up crispy cream donunts. We drove home whilst Brad and Tom picked up some food from and cooked a killer pasta... Today was awesome!!!!!

Ski Blog: Jodan Cook, Vancouver, Canada.

Hey Everyone!

I hope everyone is having a killer time in the snow, or in the sun!

Just a quick hello from Vancouver, Canada!
It turns out that the plans for Whistler fell through on several levels, so we have been spending the time in Vancouver, checking out the sights!

I have been doing all the touristy things by day, and keeping up to the dry-land training by evening!
Vancouver is a really pretty city with amazing gardens, a really cool Aquarium, a close-by island and Ground Mountain just a local bus trip away!

We did a trip to the capalano suspension bridge as well... its amazingly high and has one of the most majestic views I have ever seen!

I am definitely craving being back on snow though!
I head to Japan on the 10th and its looking like those plans are going to play out well... fingers crossed!
They are getting hammered with snow and I can't wait to get over there and try and get some creative shoots done!

Anyway, here are some shots from the time in Vancouver!

Stoked to bring you some skiing action from Japan!

Cheers, Jodan!
