Trundle's Snow Tales: Powder day at Cardrona, New Zealand

We have been waiting for the snow, and boy-oh-boy has it arrived: The local mountains in Wanaka, New Zealand have received nearly two meters of the lightest, fluffiest, deepest snow I have experienced in New Zealand.

On Wednesday we headed up to Cardrona for our first day shredding this resort for the winter season. With a big crew including photographer Pablo Azocar, pro shredders Will Jackways and Abby Lockhart, Brent Screen, Grommie JJ Rayward, Bruno Moise Cretney and Dragon team rider Charlotte Trundle. We had a great day of shredding powder, taking photos and fun.

The wait was worth it; Cardrona has amazing views, fun natural terrain and an epic park. They opened a new chairlift today called Valley View. It opens up a lot of new terrain, which I can’t wait to check out.

The Cardrona park crew have been working overtime putting in 11 features in two days. Look out for next week’s blog with some photos of their park.

Happy shreddin'
