Dragon South Pacific partied it up to celebrate the launch of their sexy new throwbacks, THE VICEROY. The event was tied in with this summer's L.S.D Premium Eyewear Training, kicking the night off with an intro to the latest shades and an exciting announcement about the amazing summer staff incentive prizes to be won!
The Los Angeles vintage-inspired dress code (think timeless classics fused with a contemporary edge) ensured everyone looked sharp while sipping on the evening's drink of choice, an extremely tasty but somewhat lethal cocktail aptly named "The Viceroy".
As soon as the training was complete, silliness ensued! A free-flowing bar, coupled with endless fun tunes spun by the talented DJ Bags meant the venue was overflowing with party-goers dancing the night away, all happily forgetting about work the following morning...

Josh Sheehan Double Backflips To Red Bull X-Fighters Sydney VICTORY!
Dragon's Josh Sheehan has won his first ever Red Bull X-Fighters competition in spectacular fashion this past weekend held on Cockatoo Island, Sydney, Australia!! Sheehan stomped his signature Ruler Backflip - considered one of the biggest in the world - a huge double backflip, and a clean 360 spin on one of the most technically difficult Freestyle Motocross runs of all time, further proving his place as Australia's newest Freestyle Motocross superstar!
Sheehan defied the odds after almost crashing earlier in his semi-final, to quickly turn his mistake into a career defining moment when he executed a perfect Double Backflip in his Semi-Final round against eventual 2011 Tour winner, Dany Torres to set himself up with a Final round against New Zealand’s Levi Sherwood, where he would go on to win.
“Today’s win for me here in Sydney was overwhelming! My family were here to see it, and I’m glad to be part of three ‘firsts’. It is the first time I have won X-Fighters. The first time X-Fighters have come to Australia in 11 years and the first time I have done a Double Backflip in a freestyle competition” Sheehan said.

Trundle's snow tales: NZ Peanut Butter Rail Jam
More than one hundred snowboarders took part in the event, with the current TTR women’s champion, Enni Rukajarvi, competing, it made the standard really high. I got my lucky number at the start of the competition and landed some good runs in qualifying, making the top 10.
Finals were tough. The girls were throwing down and judges were looking for a clean run through both features in a row and overall impression. I was so excited to place fourth overall and get some neat prizes including a trophy made out of a record!
I would love to compete in the PBRJ finals in Mammoth next year, so fingers crossed I can make it happen. Below you can check out the video of event, all the guys were killing it! We only have a couple weeks left of the New Zealand season, its gone so fast.. I wish the snow would never go!
Until next time,

Josh Sheehan Prepares For Red Bull X-Fighters In Sydney
With under a week until Red Bull X-Fighters debut on Australian shores at Sydney’s Cockatoo Island, Josh Sheehan is preparing for one of his biggest competitions. Sheeny has the chance to win the biggest Freestyle MX competition to ever land in Australia in front of his home country, friends and family.
After winning the Bronze Medal at X Games Best Trick when he landed the most dangerous FMX trick, the Double Back Flip, Josh is confident he has what it takes to win his first X-Fighters round.
We wish Josh all the best for this weekend and hope he finishes the X-Fighters season finale in style!

OWEN WRIGHT WINS QUIK PRO NEW YORK!
Dragon's Owen Wright took out Kelly Slater today in perfect 4-6 foot waves at the Quik Pro New York, capturing the largest prize purse in the history of professional surfing. The historic $300k victory caps off a huge month for Owen as he faced Slater for the second final in a row. This time he got revenge after barely losing to him earlier this month at the WCT Billabong Teahupo'o event. The victory catapults him up to the number 2 spot on the ASP World Title rankings going into the Hurley Pro at Trestles next week.
"I'm just lapping it up right now," Wright said. "I've always wanted to be in a Final with Kelly (Slater) and last week at Teahupo'o was great. I think Kelly is ready for payback already. Thank you Long Beach, how good is this? Look at these waves! " |
