Trundle's snow tales: Success at the Octagon Invitational Rail Jam
The set-up at the Octagon Invitational Rail Jam in Dunedin.
This weekend I headed off to Dunedin for the Octagon Invitational Rail Jam, which was part of the New Zealand Winter Games entertainment. Thousands of people turned up to watch the action, which was in the middle of the town square. The set-up was a down bar, an up box with a big drop off it and a flat down rail. It took a big crew of volunteers a whole day to set it up, with a huge scaffolding and 30 cubic meters of snow brought in from Wanaka (my home town).
I got interviewed for Sky Tv and the competition will air on Sky 3 at 9pm on Tuesday night if any kiwis want to check it out. It was a really fun competition and Dunedin is such a cool town. I had a successful trip placing second in the open women’s category and taking home a sweet cash prize.
Until next time,

Trundle's snow tales: Dragon team rider Nick Brown wins Parklife Invitational
Billabong Open: Charlotte Trundle, back 5 . (PHOTO: JMAC)
Two weekends ago was the Billabong Open TTR 4*. The conditions were pretty bad in qualifying: low light and wind, with about 15 girls pulling out of the competition. I was pretty nervous, as I didn’t have any time to train but I managed to land my safety run placing 14 th overall and gaining some much needed TTR points.
This Friday was the Parklife Invitational Rail Jam which was the opening for the Winter Games. Only 40 riders from around New Zealand get to compete so it’s always an honour to get asked to ride. The set-up was really awesome, a double barrel down bar and a down flat over a stair set. About 3000 people turned up to watch. All the professional 32 Team were there: JP Walker, Joe Sexton and Simon Chamberlain to name a few. I got to hang out with JP for a bit, he is a super nice guy and I was stoked to meet someone who is the ‘god father’ of jibbing. I made finals (top 3) overall.
Dragon team super-star Nick Brown of New Zealand took out first prize overall for males and $2,000 cash.
Next weekend is the Winter Games which is also a TTR event and riders from all over the world will be competing. Dragon New Zealand team members Nick Brown, Jay Walsh and Charlotte Trundle will all take part in the event.
Until next time this is Dragon team rider and blogger,
