Owen Wright Wins ASP'S Rookie Of The Year
After we come to a close to a long and strenuous season on the ASP World Tour, Dragon's own, Owen Wright finishes as top dog to take home the title of 'Rookie of the Year'. It came down to the last event in the last few heats of the Pipeline Masters, but Owen's birth in the Quarterfinals solidified his win over fellow rookie contender, Jadson Andre. Owen finished at number 7 at the end of the year. He looks to use this confidence and experience to become a title threat for the 2011 season. Congrats Owen!!

Jordy Lawler 2nd at Coolangatta, GromSearch
Jordy finished 2nd at the last event of the National Series at Coolangatta last week, only 14 points behind Mitch Parkinson. What this means for the young Dragon rider is that he is on standby for the international series at Bells, and will compete should any surfer pull out.
Jordy has had an outstanding year-winning the Ocean Earth Teenage Rampage at North Avalon, the Volcom VQS crown at Manly and the South Australia leg of the national GromSearch Series in Middleton. Keep and eye out for Jordy.

DRAGON OZ @ THE SUPER X FINALS IN BRISVEGAS
The rain, oh the rain! It had us praying like little kids at Christmas - we were veryyy afraid that after all our travel, the whole thing would be called off. Plus we were feeling it's true ability to obliterate sporting events - Terror in Torquay 2 ring a bell? Luckily it went ahead, but the rain made for interesting conditions...guys falling off bikes during and after races, officials slippin and sliding in gum boots, ambulances, wet commentators - you name it. It was a circus.
We were in the Monster Energy tent enjoying hospitality - yeeww!
We met some of the young dashing team in the pits - Kirk Gibbs, Dean Ferris, and Kade Mosig- who ended up putting up a hell-man performance, coming 4th overall, and winning a lap in the Lites. Nathan Crawford, Dragon's team manager opted not to race the mud pit and hung out with the Dragon Crew " It's not worth it, there won't be much jumping. It's not what it's about". Hear hear!
Dragon's Australian Dirt Bike Rookie of the Year was trying to keep it together. Jason Sharples who we flew in from Alice Springs is the oldest rookie ever, but truly a rookie after taking up the sport only 3 years ago. His witty letter won him the all expenses paid trip to the big smoke. "I can't believe this, it's like a dream. Thank you guys so much! It's unreal", Jason repeated all bright eyed as he was given a tour of the Honda race team truck. We were stoked to have such a deserving winner.
Here are some photos from the siikkk day!

Charles Beckinsale On Recovery
Who is Jeren Kiring?
Jeren Kiring recently won the Indonesian Junior Championship, the Rip Curl GromSearch National contest and the right to represent Indonesia at the World GromSearch Final at Bells Beach, Australia next year. Jeren is 14, and his surfing is no different to what you'd expect from that little blonde grommet who lives in the water - the air reverse seems to be a international trend. Checheckit!
